CREATIONS

70
Welcome to the CREATIONS community How can young people’s interest in science be increased? 16 partners from ten European countries want to break new ground. In CREATIONS, a project funded by the European Union, they develop creative approaches based on art for an engaging science classroom. The CREATIONS community portal creates a vital environment of innovative approaches, activities and resources for teachers and students towards Scientific Research. All tools hosted in this portal are based

CREATIONS COMMUNITY (For Partners)

27
Welcome to the CREATIONS Online Community for partners (WP4 Community building & Workshops management) This web-space is dedicated to host internal instructions, announce deadlines and relevant links for partners in order to support demonstrators, their communities and their resources for developing an engaging science classroom. Project partners: please bookmark this community and keep visiting prior to a workshop The CREATIONS community portal follows the fundamental aim of the project to

CREATIONS-ACADEMY

This community will enable teachers, students and researchers involved in extended collaborative activities. It introducesthem to the field of science through the use of resources and tools bringing together a network of educational communities, eLearning tools and resources and relevant partners of the field. Through the Inspiring Science Education website and the activities organised by the partners, teachers can help students make their own scientific discoveries, witness and understand

Let’s Accelerate Particles - Learn about the LHC

14
Introduction to elementary particles followed by hands-on activity with PCs. The students follow interactively all stages of acceleration of particles by playing an educational game. Ages : 11-15 English scenario http://inspiringscience.rdea.gr/delivery/view/index.html?id=c4e9fd501dc... Greek scenario http://inspiringscience.rdea.gr/delivery/view/index.html?id=2ca6a9c248e...

Structure of the Atom

1
Students learn about the structure of matter and elementary particles. They learn about atoms and molecules, how atoms are formed and how they are held together. Later they apply their knowledge to an interactive game trying to create atoms of various elements. The interactive game requires Adobe Flash to be installed. You can use the Chrome browser that has built-in Flash support. English scenario: http://inspiringscience.rdea.gr/delivery/view/index.html?id=879a6ec46e3b4b3aa30b61a7f90e56c5&t=p

The Magnetic Field and its Applications

3
Introduces high school students to magnetism. Describes the types of magnets, the Lorentz and Laplace force and their use in particles accelerators. The students use a hands on exercise to visualize the motion of particles in various types of magnetic fields.
