Students first watched two documentaries (Un monde obèse et Douce France) and discussed it. After a collective reflection, they produced mind maps around the food system. The class decided to consider this theme through the prism of students' eating habits.
The project began with a recurrent observation : many students came in the morning having had little or no breakfast. They built a survey which they had submitted to their peers in five other classes. The results allowed them to consider appropriate solutions.
Pozadina/oblast projekta
The school already had worked on food waste issue. The teacher wanted to develop a Living Lab project, which led to this initiative on student's eating habits and breakfast, involving two classes.
Cilj
Identify student's habits and raise their awareness about the importance of a well balanced breakfast.
Zajedničko kreiranje sa društvenim akterima
A sociologist helped the first class building a suitable survey regarding their peer's eating habits.
Other teachers, a network of associations and a nutritionist participated in a roundtable about the student's project.
The nutritionist helped the second class with the reflection about well balanced breakfasts.
Municipality supported the initiative and funded a shared breakfast in the school.
Sprovođenje
The viewing of documentaries led to a debate between students, resulting to the identification of an issue of direct concern for them.
The survey was used to extend their reflexion to the school's level.
A first step was the awareness-raising in the school : students went in classes with posters they had made. Finally they organised a shared well balanced breakfast for their peers with municipality fundings.
