Sint-Jozefinstituut Bokrijk is a secundary school that offers a lot of directions for its students. The directions can be divided in two main pools: General and technical education. The students in the general education can choose between a lot of directions: Modern languages, economics, human science, latin, mathematics and science. The students who follow the direction science have a broad range of sciences: Physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, geography.

The students who follow the technical education can choose between chemistry, apllied sciences or pharmacy-assistent. In the technical education, the students have more practical exercises and in these directions, we try to prepare those students for the workfield.

Our school is a school based on the vision of Jean-Baptiste de la Salle. This means that our vision is based on five pillars:

  • De la Salle is for the teachers a fundamental source of inspiration: This means that we welcome all students in our school, also the students with problems. We try to give them a good base for the future and give them a good perspective in life.
     
  • the student is the center of the school. We try to have good relationships between the students and the teachers that are based on mutual respect. We search for a educationprocess that is studentfriendly and motivating and that takes into account the individual student en his total personality.

  • We try to give students a lot of opportunities. By giving them these opportunities, we try to make the school for everybody a happy place.

  • We try to let the students see a bigger picture then the school itself. This means we also bring the students in contact with cultural activities, environmental problems, tolerance, ...

  •  

    We strife for association and participation between students, teachers, parents and other participants. When the students get older, they get more responsibilities and freedom in our school, so that they can grow into adults with there own hopes and dreams.
