We can’t observe how the universe formed, but scientists are still willing to say that we know the universe was created through a Big Bang. In this lesson, students will learn the three main lines of evidence for the Big Bang: the universe is expanding, the Cosmic Microwave Radiation, and the mixture of chemical elements.

Σε αυτή τη δραστηριότητα οι μαθητές θα ακολουθήσουν βήμα προς βήμα την ανακάλυψη των βαρυτικών κυμάτων! Θα τους παρουσιαστεί η σύγχρονη αντίληψη για τη βαρύτητα με έναν παιδαγωγικά συνεπή τρόπο και στη συνέχεια θα διερευνήσουν τις απαραίητες παραμέτρους για την κατασκευή ενός ανιχνευτή βαρυτικών κυμάτων τόσο ευαίσθητου ώστε να μετρήσει το πολύ μικρό 'σήμα' που προέρχεται από αυτά κατα τον τρόπο που το έκανε και το πείραμα LIGO τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2015.

Με την χρήση του ψηφιακού εργαλείου Tinkercad οι μαθητές βασίζονται στις ιδιότητες της στερεομετρίας και σχεδιάζουν τρισδιάστατα αντικείμενα που τα πλαισιώνουν με μαθηματικά προβλήματα.
