Mike Madden

MikeMadden earned both his BS and MSEd in Physics and Mathematics Education from SUNY Cortland. Mr. Madden has been teaching physics for eight years, seven of which have been in the Canandaigua City School District. He has taught International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, Regents, and Conceptual Physics courses in his tenure at Canandaigua. Through the QuarkNet program at Syracuse University, Mr. Madden has studied high energy physics in the hopes of bringing those experiences into his classroom. Currently, Mr. Madden has seven students working on an independent study with a muon detector received from QuarkNet. Outside of the classroom, Mr. Madden is the coach of the Canandaigua Alpine Ski Team and works part-time at Bristol Mountain as a race coach. He co-advises the High School’s Outdoor Club, and spends his summer months traveling with family and cycling around the Rochester region.
