The “Best Practice of Career Counsellors’ Training” handbook, is the final product of the European Project “Career Counsellors’ Interactive Training” (www.carcouit.eu). The “Best Practice of Career Counsellors’ Training” is a useful tool which includes the status of career counsellors training in Europe, the current Needs Analysis Report of specific career counsellors training needs and the best assessed modules of training. The modules and the scenarios have been implemented and evaluated by career counsellors in different countries through Europe.

The “Effective Career Guidance” handbook is the fi nal product of the European network “CareerGuide For Schools” (www.career-guide.eu) It is a practical tool which includes the main theories of the Career Guidance, new approaches and exercises and activities for career guidance in school. The main aim is to provide to teacher or counsellor a practical manual with exercises and activities detailed described, with a theoretical framework and the expected results, to provide a step by step process of career guidance with material which will be easily implemented in classroom and students΄ groups.

This document follows the agreement for European co-operation concerning the strategic objectives, use of European programmes, particularly in the field of lifelong learning, development and use of common reference tools and approaches, periodic monitoring etc. Based on this background the Comenius network “Entrepreneurship Education and the World of Work – EE&WoW” developed a set of descriptors concerning the relevant items for the “Dos & Don´ts” of effective Entrepreneurship Education. In 2012, DG Enterprise and Industry and DG Education and Culture initialised two transnational events targeting teachers’ preparation for entrepreneurship education. The events took place in May 2012 (Dublin, Ireland) and in September 2012 (Brdo, Slovenia). The aim of the events was to bring together actors involved in teacher education and training in entrepreneurship to present good practice, exchange ideas and learn from each other. About 170 delegates from more than 30 countries – European Member States as well as Accession Countries and Partner Countries – took part in the two events.

This task is seen as a part of European policies for the Youth, for education and employment, and as a part of Strategy for Lifelong Learning within the Lisbon Agenda is one of the most important tasks of European strategies for education, for employment, for lifelong learning and for social cohesion.

Starting my own small business is a prototype modular training package in entrepreneurship that is intended to provide supplementary knowledge to young people receiving technical and vocational education and training (TVET), in formal or non-formal settings, so that they may acquire an entrepreneurial mindset and the knowledge to set up a small business, if they so wish.
