The Primary School of Stavraki is a regional school and is about 4km from the city center of Ioannina, in Epirus. It has 190 students and operates as a 12-seat, all-day school.
Its building infrastructure is extremely limited as well as the ancillary spaces. The courtyard is small for the number of students and there are no sports facilities.
Nevertheless, in our school in recent years we have been implementing several programs of environmental education, health education, culture and local history, eTwinning programs (national and European), while we have also proceeded with many inter-school collaborations.
We are a school "open" to society and we cooperate with organizations such as the University of Ioannina, the municipality of Ioannina, the NCSR of Ioannina, the parents' association of the school as well as with Non-Governmental Organizations, voluntary groups and cultural associations of Ioannina.
We have won many competitions and have been honored for the second time with the title eTwinning School. We are members of OSOS (open schools for open societies), ODS (opendiscoveryspace.eu) and SDGs School Club.
We are in the process of continuous extroversion and opening of the school to the local community while our primary goals are to develop in our students volunteering, solidarity, participatory process, cooperation and active citizenship, through exploratory / discovery and experiential learning for a democratic, inclusive and sustainable school.
