School 2 membersArsakeio is the general name of the Arsakeia – Tositseia Schools, a group of co-ed private schools in Greece, administered by Philekpedeftiki Etería (Society for Promoting Education and Learning [SPEL]), which is a non-profit educational organization. Philekpedeftiki Etería was founded in 1836 by three eminent scholars (Ioannis Kokkonis, Georgios Gennadios, and Michail Apostolidis). The schools were named after the national benefactors Apostolos Arsakis and Mihail and Eleni Tositsas. The Arsakeio comprises six schools, with campuses in Attica (Psychiko and Ekali), Thessaloniki, Patras, Ioannina, and also Tirana (Albania). Each school includes all levels of education (nursery school, primary school, middle school and high school). Arsakeio has several Departments and Services that provide support to the school community.
Our school, Arsakeio Primary School of Ioannina, was founded in 2009. The school operates under an extended timetable approved by the Ministry of Education. The curriculum is enriched with subjects such as SHTEAM (Science, Humanities, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics), Greek and European culture, Theatrical education, Creative and Mathematical Thinking, Science Labs. There are also after-school groups of Robotics, Rhetoric and Athletic activities. The students take part in national competitions on Mathematics, Science and Robotics. They also participate in school projects and in European programs such as eTwinning. Our school was awarded with the eTwinning School Quality Label.
