During our tour of royal vineyards we found out a lot of interesting information about the cultivatin, production, sale and maintenance of their vines and products. All the information was given to us by the manager of the Royal vineyards, Adam Kromer. The Royal vineyards are lo ated in Petrcane, which dates back to 1066 spread over 40 hectares of land, where they grow the following grape varieties: Pošip, Plavac Mali, Crljenak etc. As with everything, Covid-19 has had an impact on the sale of wine and grapes, and therefore the market is open to the rest of Europe. Of course, everything can not go so smoothly, we are also familiar with vine diseases. Lice were imported from America that destroyed many vineyards in Europe, and now there is leathopper that enters the root of the vines. Hail, long-term rain, ashes, burners, all this can create a problem. The royal vineyards import fertilizers from France and Italy. The harvest takes place during August, September, and even October, everything depends on the grape variety. In the world, harvesting machines are increasingly used, but as machines can sometimes damage the fruit, hand harvesting is still being conducted here. Before planting a vine, it is necessary to conduct an analysis of the soil, find out what is missing in the soil and what formula is needed to improve it if it does not meet all the planting conditions. The vines that remain unused refer to biowaste or they are used to make brandy, but they also plan to use it for sprinkling onto the land.
