CERN will develop an e-learning game, building on experiences with primitive prototypes already developed by CERN, in which players try to “tune” a simulation of high-energy particle collisions to give an optimal description of a chosen set of reference data, while simultaneously learning about particle physics. Ultimately, it should be possible for a Mrs. Smith, playing “Virtual Atom Smasher” in her spare time, to find a parameter set which is superior to the default one (which provides a natural scoring target).

In this documents you can find verbs that are suggested for each educational objective, so that you find it easier when writing down the description of the educational objectives of your scenario.

This is an educational pathway which aims at highlighting the navigational skills of the students and to develop their understanding of the world. Through a game where they have work in groups in order to design the best routes among different places in Europe they familiarize with distances and with the relation of time and distance. Along, they are learning to apply the knowledge gained by designing their own routes on an interactive map.

This educational pathway can be customized to various grades’ needs.

Με τη συγκεκριμένη εργασία οι μαθητές συγκεντρώνουν πληροφορίες που αφορούν τους σεισμούς και ακολουθώντας την επιστημονική μεθοδολογία μπορούν τελικά να υπολογίζουν το επίκεντρο ενός σεισμού από τα σεισμογράμματα που καταγράφονται σε τρεις σεισμογραφικούς σταθμούς.
