Maynooth Post Primary
Školu 2 membersMaynooth Post Primary School is a co-educational second level school with a non-selective entry, getting the large majority of our students from the Primary Schools in our Catchment area. We opened in 1971 as a Vocational School in the grounds of the Presentation Convent Maynooth and moved to our present location on the Moyglare Road in 1972, under the auspices of Co Kildare V EC initially and now as part of Kildare & Wicklow Education & Training Board.
Maynooth Post Primary School is a community of students, staff and parents. We aim to create a warm and caring learning environment in which all our students can achieve their full potential. We value the unique contribution of each individual student in an atmosphere of tolerance, partnership and shared respect. We provide a nurturing climate in which students can grow and develop academically, socially, culturally, physically and spiritually.
Our enrolment this year is estimated to be 1120 students from First to Sixth Year participating in the Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle. Apart from Junior and leaving Certificate preparation, we offer an optional one year Transition Year as fourth year and students may choose to take the LCVP and LCAP as a Senior Cycle option.
We also offer a range of extracurricular activities including sporting pursuits such as Gaelic games, Equestrian, Olympic Handball, Soccer, Rugby, Athletics, Basketball. Additionally, students can participate in our School Musical, Talent shows, Christmas Concert, Public speaking, Debating, Gaisce, Young Scientists Competition and many other extracurricular activities.
These activities are fundamental to helping us achieve our stated aim of providing a full and rewarding educational experience.
