Students are introduced to the concept of symmetry through art. They first observe famous paintings to locate symmetry in them. Then they seek to find the symmetry axis in pictures from their everyday life and play the game of battleship in pairs. They create symmetrical works on A4 paper with liquid colors. They paint symmetrically while trying to do the same with bee bots. The students will write a blogpost and will host an art exhibition at the end of the school year.

Activity 1: 45 minutes
Go into pairs. Play the battleship game. Divide a paper in the middle. Each student draws 5 ships on one half of A4 paper. The game starts with the first student placing a dot in their area where they think that when they fold the paper, they will coincide with one of their opponent's ships. If this happens, then the ship has sunk. The winner of the game is the student who sinks all of his opponents ships the fastest.
Activity 2: 45 minutes
Each student folds an A4 paper in the middle. They paint on one half what they want and then carefully fold the paper to create their symmetric shape. Your symmetrical painting is ready.
Activity 3: 45 minutes
After watching the "Syncronized drawing game" video, try to do the same with your classmate.
Activity 4: 90 minutes
Go into pairs. Place a marker on the bee bot. On the mat, set the axis of symmetry. Create a path with the robot along the symmetry axis and your pair will try to create your symmetrical path.
