IC Druento - Scuola Primaria Gianni Rodari

The Istituto Comprensivo di Druento embraces a catchment area spread over three municipalities of the northern belt of Turin, up to the mountain slopes of the Susa Valley : Druento, San Gillio, Givoletto. These municipalities offer the population the opportunity to recognize themselves in a small community, thus fostering interpersonal relationships. The structure of the territory, which was originally a predominantly agricultural area, allows for a contact and reconnection with nature that stimulates creativity and allows one to rediscover those simple values that sometimes life in the city cannot offer. Industrial development in the area has created employment opportunities for many Eastern European immigrants as well, who thus turn out to be perfectly integrated into the social fabric. Social background is average, contained is immigration.

The vision of our institute is to create an educational community where pupils in synergy with teachers, families and local authorities acquire fundamental skills. Foreign languages, mother tongue, digital and learning to learn are deepened. Outdoor education and sustainability-related skills are encouraged.

The goal is personal growth, individual formation and social fulfillment of active and aware citizens, beyond all forms of physical, social and economic disadvantage.
