The STEAM IDEAS’ Square Roadmap provides a structured yet flexible framework to support schools in implementing STEAM education through performing arts.
The roadmap aims to:
- guide schools through progressive stages of STEAM integration,
- support self-reflection and readiness assessment,
- facilitate the development of school-level implementation strategies,
- align pedagogical innovation with leadership development, and
- promote sustainable institutional change.
Rather than prescribing a single implementation model, the roadmap adopts a developmental approach, allowing schools to progress at different speeds depending on their context, resources, and existing experience with STEAM education.
The roadmap is closely connected to the L-STEAM Competence-Based Framework, which defines the key competencies that students develop through STEAM learning environments enriched by performing arts. The roadmap is developmental rather than prescriptive. It supports differentiated progression across four school typologies: Starter, Enabled, Advanced, and Master.
