St Conleth's hostory - Since classes first commenced in the Courthouse in 1933 Newbridge Vocational School has provided an excellent education service to all who enter it’s doors.
Classes were provided in various centres around the town until Scoil na gCeard was occupied in Main St. in 1937. The school continued to grow both in numbers attending and in the variety of subjects and courses offered throughout the 1940’s and 50’s. Such was the demand for space that the use of prefabricated classrooms became widespread and a new school was first proposed in 1966.
Since moving to the new school building on Station Rd. in September 1979, St. Conleth’s has been able to provide modern facilities for it’s students. The fact that the school serves the Newbridge community is evident from the range of classes and courses on offer. In addition to the Junior and Leaving Certificate, there are a number of PLC and adult education courses available.
This year has seen an expansion to the school with the building of a new gymnasium and a new extension is planned for the future.
