3rd Laboratory Center of East Attika (Rafina)

3rd Laboratory Center of East Attika (Rafina) , is located at the city of Rafina (near Athens).  In its  laboratories 384 students of one morning and one evening Vocational High School, perform laboratory exercises.  

Laboratory Centers operate in an independent administrative structure as schools and are in cooperation with the Vocational Upper Secondary Schools and the Institutes of Vocational Training of their area.  They are formed by at least two schools; while in their premises operate laboratories of different fields and expertise aiming at improving the provided laboratorial practice to the students of the schools that are included in the laboratory centers.

In Greece the Vocational High Schools (known in Greek as EPAL) are of the following cycles:

  • morning Vocational High Schools (known in Greek as EPAL) that are addressed to students in the age-range of 14-18. They aim at providing both general education and specialist  technical and vocational skills to prepare pupils for the labour market . 
  • evening Vocational High Schools (known in Greek as ESPERINA EPAL) that are addressed to workers up to the age of 50,  aiming at improving  their job prospects.

The subjects that are taught in 3rd Laboratory Center of East Attika of Rafina, by 43 teachers,  are of the following specific fields:

  • Administration and Economics
  • Structural projects, Structured Environment and Architectural Planning
  • Applied Arts
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Automatics
  • Mechanical Engineering,
  • Informatics
  • Health, Care and Wellbeing


In many of these fields also specializations are provided at the third-last year of the studies.
