The 1st Experimental Primary School of Ioannina is located at the centre of Ioannina and is one of the two experimental schools that there are in the town.

We live in the 21st century, in the age of information and knowledge. People are daily bombarded by a multitude of information that must be able to evaluate, interpret, judge, accept or reject. The school should prepare the critically-planned future politician who will be able to judge and make the right choices.

To achieve this, a modern school open to society should be created. A school that respects the child and offers opportunities to develop its creativity. An attractive school where students will explore, discover and build new knowledge. Having as a guide the above, we set goals that we organized on axes.
The axes raised concern:
1. The logistics infrastructure
2. Reforming the school environment
3. Relations between teachers, between parents - schools - teachers, teachers - students.
4. The overall development of pupils (individual, social, emotional)
5. Educational processes (teaching methods, programs - innovative actions, student assessment)
6. The use of educational material

     Our primary goal is to contribute to the development and the all-round cultivation of our pupils' personality. The student is at the heart of any action and action of the School.
In more detail and in the framework of the philosophy of the Experimental Schools, our School seeks to achieve the following main goals:
     Promote, experiment, innovation educational research and good teaching practices by incorporating new ideas and experiences, and adapting, improving and modifying strategies used in the teaching process.
     To maximize the individual and social skills of our students, covering their socio-emotional needs and rewarding their efforts within a feedback assessment framework. To develop a variety of educational activities and activities within and outside the school curriculum, such as: the operation of educational groups that give way to the creative concerns and special inclinations of students, the production of educational material, the opening of the School to society and cooperation with local actors, external volunteering, etc.
    To contribute substantially to the education of the students of the Pedagogical Department and future teachers.
     In general, our School chooses actions and creates synergies necessary for the institution of the New Democratic School, shaping the prerequisites for initiatives, assuming responsibilities, cultivating co-responsibility and the two-way and effective collaboration and communication of all the school community's stakeholders. The school community has to operate within a framework of cooperation, mutual understanding and trust. All involved in this, students; teachers; parents are looking to be happy with the school's educational services.
