Background
This school has already tackled some issues linked with food waste, but this year the two classes involved in the living lab project wth their teachers in Economics and social sciences, have started to adress the Food system issue through the prism of the students eating habits. Through their curriculum, the teachers will work with the students in a complementary way, to engage with the complexity of the Food system issues, from field to fork and the importance of having a transdisciplinary approach, and the local, national, european and international levels.
After a phase of exploration through the film screening of Un monde obèse et Douce France, students exchanged about the challenges of the food system, and worked on Mindmaps from Food eating habits, in order to gain insights on the chain of factors that can influence these.
One observation that started also the project was that very few students have a proper breakfast before starting their classes in the morning.
Now they have worked with another stakeholder and a researcher in sociology in order to conceive a survey, they will circulate in 5 classes of the highschool.
Next step : processing the results of the questionnaire and choosing which solution to prototype.
