our town is immeresd in green. We all love to travel, camp, eat and enjoy nature on our free time. But what about all the garbage? we leave planty of it. Also, it has a long way from being picked up, collected and transported until it ends in a landfill.
What if part of this garbage could turn into compost and return to nurture the ground at the same can it is being thrown in the first place?
Background
all the 8th grader in our school embarked on the SALL foo program. the head teacher of our class main subject is של”ח. our class does a lot of outdoor learning and spends time in nature. we came up with the idea when we went to a natural reserve and saw that the waste bins are bursting and contaminating the surrounding.
Implementation
1. Exposure to the subject and ideation that invoked personal experience
2. research and interviews with potential users and stackeholders.
3. modeling a mockup
4. creating a working small scale prototype.
Reflection
imy personal value from the project includes acquiring more experience in lead students through the design process and implementation, and collecting conclusions for later.
the students added value from the project is experience in attempting to solve complex problems with a design that they personally ideated and created from scratch.
what works well - the connection between real life problems in the community and the industry and the passion that they holds.
what’s not really working - the capabilities of students in junior high to accomplish the real life problems are not sufficient.
Futurel Plans
the design process will be similar but the project inside it will be different because the idea is germinating in the context of those who attempt to deal with it.
