The project is in line with the objectives of Agenda 2030 for the sustainable development, adopted by the General
Assembly of the United Nations on 25 September 2015 with the Resolution A/RES/70/259 “The United Nations
Decade of Action on Nutrition” (2016-2025) that, in addition to promoting strong actions to avert the hunger and
malnutrition at the global level, also support the transition towards diets with a low environmental impact. Food
systems, in fact, are the basis of a world crisis that brings with it a load of malnutrition and non-communicable
diseases, but also problems related to the environment and to climate change. It is therefore crucial to adopt a
holistic approach to food, taking into consideration both the issues of health and those of sustainability. In this
context, all the stakeholders, including the education system, which is also represented by the school, are
encouraged to engage in the define, monitor and achieve actions that are specific, measurable, accessible, relevant
and timed (SMART Objectives).
