ODYSSEY OF HOMER: Myth or fact?

This scenario attempts to bring students in contact with the geographical features of the Odyssey of Homer. The Odyssey takes place almost all over the Mediterranean sea. It is a fact that has mythical elements (such as monsters, witches, gods and a visit to Hades). An effort to match all travel stations with current locations has been made. This scenario aims to the geospatial understanding of the route of Odysseus and the investigation whether it can be regarded as real fact. That means to highlight potential excesses of the description and to find information or alternatives that improve the existing image.
