The students of the Minority school of Dokos will collaborate with their families and a local non profitable organisation in order to produce organic plants (mainly vegetables) that will be later be planted in their home grardens and keep seeds for the following years. In this case healthier vegetables without additions will be produced and families will obtain healthier habits

Reading the book "Three generations" of farmers we saw that
we had a lot in common but also a lot differences with the farmers in France.
That's why we decided to deal a little more with how our grandparents cultivated
their fields in the past, our fathers and mothers today, but also how we might
cultivate these fields when we grow up.

When we got home, we looked through our photo albums and found some pictures of our
grandparents in their fields. Some of us did small interviews with them and announced
to the class that their life was very difficult and demanding and that the hours
they spent in the fields were too many. Some others said they worked in the fields
from a very young age (as we are today). Some others brought tools that their grandparents
used in their fields and we saw that some were similar to ours and some we had a hard
time understanding how they used them.

A grandfather helped us a lot by making a miniature plow for us.
Another students brought the miniature cows and we went to the neighboring estate
and tried it out.

We talked about organic seeds. We realized that in order to be able
to maintain a good quality of life we should save our own organic seeds
from our vegetable crops. So we asked the local organization SPORITES TIS KOMOTINI
to give us their own organic seeds so that we could start our crops. With great joy,
they gave us seeds of tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, peppers and many others.
We got soil and bags and in mid-January we started planting them. After few weeks
the first plants started to emerge. With a lot of care and love and having made
a watering program we grew them and distributed them throughout the village.
Now everyone has our own organic vegetables.
We had a brainstorm activity about the future of the cultivation.
Will we be able to cultivate
are own fields in Earth or not? Just to be sure, we got ready
for cultivation in other planets
While our schools were closed I created and sent to my students instructions for building
a rocket with recyclable materials through an e-book. It looks a lot like a normal book
that you turn the pages. Each of us made our own rocket into which we will put the organic
seeds that we will keep from our plants.
