Invisible plastics

Objective:

Raise awareness about the amount of plastics present in products that we use as consumers on an everyday basis. 

Second level students aged 13-14 years of age, 48 students in total. 

In collaboration with primary school students. 

Placed:

Students investigate products conatining hidden plastics that perisist in the environment after use. 

Links to local and global waste treatment practices. 

Students are  aware of how much plastic is hidden in everyday products. 

Purposeful:

Students develop an understanding of how they can influence and impact on the use of plastics in society. 

Passion -led 

Student voice is expressed as students choose specific areas of interest, their methods for research and specific investigations that they design. 

Pervassive:

Students become influencers; in the class, in the school, in the community, in thier homes. They lead the way in reducing the consumption of products that contain these plastics, through raising awareness and discussion with their peers, their families and their local industry partners.
