This activity combines scientific inquiry with music education. Students investigate the characteristics of earthquakes using real data and then sonify the data in order to produce a musical synthesis from them.  Students are introduced to the sonification technique which can be applied in various physical phenomena spanning from elementary particle collisions to the study of exoplanets and beyond.
