Jõhvi Gymnasium

Jõhvi Gymnasium is the first state gymnasium in Virumaa, which was founded as a gymnasium in 2015. There are about 450 students in the school. The school is innovative in both its content and form. Jõhvi Gymnasium favours integration because a large number of the students come from different cultures and nationalities. In addition, the school values using modern technology in the lessons, creative thinking, design thinking, in-depth acquisition of languages, hard sciences and entrepreneurship. Learning methods that promote integration are in use, integrated subject and language learning is important, and the school organizes several joint activities: events and guest lectures (including in foreign languages).

At Jõhvi Gymnasium, the basis of the value system is humanity and a respectful attitude towards oneself and others, which is most directly reflected in daily communication and, for example, listening to each other and accepting different opinions in the learning process.
