This is a project for high school students who are interested in physics and astronomy and want to expand their knowledge of elementary particles, accelerators, CERN scientists and their applications in medicine, astronomy and more.
To mark the anniversary of Bulgaria's membership in CERN - June 11, 1999 To combine the knowledge of physics and astronomy with the skills to create a presentation and accordingly present some information in an interesting way! And so...
Search the internet for elementary particles, particle accelerators, CERN, LHC, CMS, their findings and applications in medicine.
Look for presentation tools other than Power Point - such as prezi, ludus.one, and more.
Create a presentation on one of the following topics: "Wonderful fields and small particles", "Particle accelerators", "CERN and LHC", "CMS and Higgs boson". Introduce it to your classmates in a special lesson. Work in teams.
Take the CERN Magic Quiz.
Learning Objectives
First - to get students acquainted with CERN ,particle accelerators, detectors and in particular CMS, second - to create presentations on a specific topic with a tool other than Power Point, and third - to participate in a quiz.
Se sentir
We have studied information on CERN, LHC, CMS and other detectors, elementary particles and the Higgs boson. We found some curious facts. We looked at several platforms for creating presentations. We liked powtoon.com, prezi.com, ludus.one, MS Sway.
Imaginer
In classes on different subjects, we often present presentations created through Power Point. That is why we want to find and learn about other ways - software or platforms - to diversify our performances.
Créer
We have developed several presentations on the above topics through prezi.com, ludus.one, MS Sway, powtoon.com. We also used the information from the Physics at School site.
