Σχεδίαση/τριδιάσταση εκτύπωση μινωικού αγγείου

Groups of students are studying and calculating virtual model of minoic vases in order to design and construct 3d vases for a student contest.

Finally, each group competes each other in order to design, and finally construct, the 3d vase. The best 3D vase will participate at a student contest. The project is cross-curricular (History, Maths, Design and Technology) and implemented between students of different grades.

Linkage with the National Greek curriculum is provided

The design of the vase can be done with use of the 3d software programmes (e.g. open source OpenSCAD,  Tinkercad, 123D Make της Autodesk, ΙnkscapeSketchup) & with use of a 3d Printer (CubeX Duo).

The project can be combined with educational visits ( real or virtual to sites of archeological interest, such as):

• Knossos Palace,
Αrcheological Museum of Heraklion,
• Tactual Museum

Collaboration between students of different Grades/Classes:
• Students from C grade collect information from various sources (internet, books, other sources) for the Minoic culture and give them to students of 6th Grade
• Students from 6th grade  use the information and calculate the analogies (Mathematics) the dimensions that a vase of that era had, as well as the dimensions that the model needs to have in order to be printed (with the 3d printer)
• 5th class students use the dimensions given from students of 6th class in order to print the models of the vase
