Toholammin yläkoulu (Lower secondary school of Toholampi)
School 13 membersThe lower secondary school of Toholampi (also known as Kuusisto school) is located in the municipality of Toholampi with a population of 3 000 in the Central Ostrobothnia region of Finland. The nearest urban centre is 45 km from Toholampi.
The school has around 150 students attending. In addition to teaching, the core idea of the municipality's schools is to deeply care about the students and their well-being. The municipality invests in resources for the school timetable, teaching equipment and the learning environment.

Toholampi school needed help in order to increase the digital skills and abilities and to increase the equality in the use of technology among students. The school would also benefit from remote learning opportunities, for example, during periods that a student is absence. This could prevent the alienation of those at risk at exclusion.
The school decided to focus on the 7th graders in their LfE-project and bough personal Chromebooks for all the students in that grade level. The goal was to make the computers a common tool in studying and improve students' communication skills, as well as increase the community of the whole school.
