This educational scenario intends to demonstrate in what ways perception of urban areas is conceived. Therefore, it aims to explore how spatial elements of an urban fabric are perceived and how citizens' view of the city matches to this of the experts (planners). To achieve this, we include maps, images and recommended references, so that students understand the dimensions of the perceptual image of urban enivronments. We also invite the target audience to create a mental map of the metropolitan area of Athens (Greece) to assess the way they grasp the city they live in.
