While visiting the river with the group of students to do an experiment, concerning the subject of biology, an icthyologist informed them that water analysis at the State General Laboratory came up to the result that water is contaminated. The water usually becomes contaminated due to the result of human activities. The water is often contaminated with chemicals and/or microorganisms. The contamination reduces the quality of the water and causes it to become toxic to humans and the environment.
Even swimming in contaminated water can be dangerous, as it can cause skin rashes, respiratory infections, as well as sickness and diarrhoea.
The chemicals in polluted water can be toxic to aquatic life living in the water. It can reduce their life span and can also reduce their ability to reproduce. Litter in water can also pose a threat to aquatic life and other animals.

Objetivo
Aim to raise awareness about the pollution in river Eurotas, which is a real life problem.
Rivers are the blue arteries of our planet. However, many of the world’s rivers and streams are severely affected by pollution, with plastic being one of the major culprits. To limit the amount of plastic pollution beyond the reach of collection and recycling that enters our oceans, we must remove it before it gets there. We believe that educating people, transforming companies, and actively cleaning our rivers are the most effective ways to stop plastic pollution from entering our environment.
Solution is one day local festival by the river with various workshops such as a theatrical play written by students (science-literature-arts), Volunteer cleaning of the river, Pic nic etc so the more people get involved the more awreness it arouses.
Eurotas is a river very close to the town students live, the clean Eurotas could arise new jobs for the locals (coffee shops)

University expertise
Communicate with the embassies of Switzerland and Germany to discuss about the practices they used to clean and protect their rivers.
Contacted local schools, government, hospital foundations, local businesses and interest groups such as birders, paddlers, daycares, art societies, music societies, heritage societies, recycling societies, and environmental groups. Contacted and enlisted the help of a variety of groups will help your event to diversify and it will, as have many others, evolve into not only a celebration of local river heritage, but a celebration of your community and its connection to rivers and the environment.
Implementación
Co-creation: contact/discuss, identify needs and expectations of social actors, produce a wide range of ideas
Exploration: apart from river eurotas find out polluted rivers in Greece/Germany/Switzerland
Experimentation: water analysis, walk by the river to see the presence of plastic and garbdgae
Evaluation: discuss, validate (swot analysis) improve/dismiss solutions
