Arnavutköy district which was one of the distinguished settlements of Ottoman Empire was an old Greek village those days where mostly Greek and Jewish people lived and when Fatih Sultan Mehmet conquered İstanbul he settled Albanian people he brought from Albenia.Since then the name Mega Reuma ( The Great Current ) became Arnavutköy ( Albanian Village ) .
In the ancient time the people of Arnavutköy where the temples of three great religion exist got along for years, celebrated the religious festivals together, engaged in difficult times and knitted the social texture they have now and they created the consciousness of the district .
Korkmaz Yigit Anatolian High School is a lovely and qualified boutique school with 10 classes,392 students and 20 teachers and the people outside watch the school which is called ''The School with Magnolia'' because of the amazing and wonderful Magnolia Trees in awe.
Our school is one of the most reputable high schools in Turkey. It is one of the most preferred high schools in Turkey by the students who have the highest marks.Our school has the highest degrees in the university placement exams in Turkey.
In our school there are classrooms,a physics laboratory,a chemistry laboratory,a biology laboratory and also a conference hall,a library and a drawing office which are being used by the students and in these places students do social activities in the guide of their teachers in a great excitement and pleasure.Besides various activity clubs,the theatre club,folk dances club,maths and poem club were established.The theatre club and the folk dances club perform shows to the students and their parents at the end of the term.Music is being performed in the breaks by the music broadcast room.
As a result of these studies and conditions, the students came into prominence in İstanbul not only with their educational success but also with their social activities.The students got degrees in the science,philosopgy and maths contests,got awards from the geography and physics projects and they won prizes in the competitions which were organized by various social institutions,government agencies and schools and their studies took place in exhibitions.Having the advantages of the appropriate physical conditions of school and with the less number of students,every talented student also has success in various sports.
Information Technologies is available in all classes and it's being used in all lessons.There are smartboards in all classes and every student has a tablet pc.
In the end , Korkmaz Yigit Anatolian High School is like a conservatory with its orchestra,dancers,artists and poet canditates.

*Score Project (2017-2018) KYAL worked for Score Project for 2 years. Some courses in Turkey and international contests had set by KYAL . 3 students in KYAL had gotten prizes in STEMweek 2019.
*Tulpar 1923 , (2018-2019 )30 students attended 3D& Robotic course in Nisantasi Universtiy.(6 months )Then they did some 3D & Robotic materials.With these materials ,5 students participated Teknofest Turkey .
* Platon Project Erasmus+ KA2 ,Platon Schools (2017-2018)
5 teachers (Maths ,Physics , English ,Geography ,Chemistry ) have completed the pilot implementation of the project PLATON during the school year 2017/2018
* “Art:The Innovative of Reaching Science ” (2017 October -2018 June ),Perform Conference –UNESCO /PARIS
8 students and 2 teachers presented the project in Perform Conference (Unesco – Paris )
*Anatolia”The Land Where Science was Born and Flourished” ,(2016-2017 )London South Bank University , TurkishEmbassy (London ) ,U.K
10 students and 2 teachers presented the history of science of Anatolia in London Bank University and TurkishEmbassy (London ) ,U.K
*Compass Project (2016-2018 ) Compass Project is a Erasmus KA2 School Education Project (Creating online materials&Product and at STEM subjects ) from September 2016 to August 2018 .Reference number 2016-1-ESO1 –KA201-025485
KYAL is partner of Compass Project.As a partner KYAL set some courses and contests to students and teachers.
*“Science Lesson with Animations” : Physics teacher Hatice Kırmacı and Ivme Schools Science teacher Yasemin Kose(Ankara)came together and to participate eTwinnig Project.In this Project,teachers evaluated effect on animations in different city,different schools and different grade of students.(2015-2016)
*The Physics Lesson with Moodle Online Course (2016), (http://mustpro.eu) Three students were chosen from every class ,then ,they were educated physics in English Online for three months.
*Some students participated in Science Olympic Tübitak (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) (2014)
*Projects Fair: With Projects (25) was choosen to organize a Project Fair in our school.This Projects fair was supported by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (2015 and 2019)
In addition to the academic development of our students in our school , the support was also given to the social skills. It aims to contribute to the society with useful work of realizing their own personal touch. In this context, the following projects are carried out successfully in our school :
Our school social service projects being carried out by all students studying in 9th and 10th grade. During a school year , students who separates 50 hours for the social service work receive certificates .
Students are continuing their work by organizing events at Nursing homes, kindergartens , rehabilitation centers , places of disabled people and in the animal shelters and other Civil Society Organizations.
“Best Buddies Turkey” project is an international voluntary study of students in our school every year , are coupled with a friend over +13 years old with mental disabilities aimed at promoting their social development.
With the participation of volunteer students at our school one day a week “Sign Language “learning work is being done .
Our School made a Language Project Conducted with Hungary of Comenius School Partnership within the framework of the European Union to BMO Radnoti Miklos Szakkozepiskolaj , Szakiskolaja , Kollegiuma which named “ALMA amicable Meeting Abroad Language “.
