1st Junior High School of Rafina
School 2 membersThe 1st Rafina Junior High is a lower secondary education public school located in the centre of the city of Rafina. It was founded in 1976 and originally operated in a building quite near the port. As of 1989 it moved to a newly built establishment and has remained there ever since. As any lower secondary education public school, it addresses ages of 12 to 15 year olds and covers a wide range of teaching material extending (among others) from Greek and foreign languages, math, biology and physics, to informatics, geology, music, home economics and technology (in all its nuances). Following administrative guidelines, there is always a number of extracurricular activities running throughout the school year in which students get involved with subject areas such as environmental issues, water resources management, local history, folklore, robotics, theatre, to name a few. Thus, the school has developed quite extensive experience in organizing and running such projects. Being a body of 400 students and 35 tenure teachers we have always had seven or eight different extracurricular projects running at any given school year, which has allowed us to accumulate a broad range of experiences on the matter.
