MY SCHOOL VOYAGES WITH PERSEUS

"Prepare students to think and act as well-informed citizens concerned with the marine ecosystems and how they are affected by human activities in (the Mediterranean and Black) Sea societies."
The international thematic project and accelerator “My school voyages with Perseus” aims to create a network of OSOS schools that will work on marine ecosystems by focusing on clean seas stewardship.
Educators along with marine scientists have a role in supporting and inspiring children to acquire the knowledge, skills and inspire their awareness to live and work as responsible and concerned Citizens.
PERSEUS “school partnerships” is a key for developing schools’ European/international dimension on voicing schools’ opinion in protecting the marine environment. The project will give students an opportunity to explore similarities and differences between schools and nationalities, while simultaneously creating awareness of other young people’s reality in a captivating way.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Students be able to:
- Work like Young scientists for marine protection.
- Comprehend the reasons for which Mediterranean and the Black Sea are particularly important seas.
- Be informed and sensitized on the subject of marine environment protection.
- Undertake initiatives for the protection of marine ecosystems.
- Cultivate values that will contribute in the comprehension of “differential” in order to constitute seas spaces of connection and composition of different cultures.
- Develop communication and collaboration between school environmental teams of various states.
- Develop responsible attitudes in order to become future responsible active citizens Practice in the resolution of problems and in the decision-making.
Key thematic areas of PERSEUS project are: Marine biodiversity, Overfishing, Chemical Marine Pollution– Bioaccumulation- Health, Eutrophication in Marine Waters and Marine Litter.
