Interpreting seismograms - messages from the inside the Earth

This lesson plan is designed for middle school students. Students will become familiar with seismological terminology and learn to read a seismogram. For this purpose they will use the SWARM software to process seismic data derived by the SNAC webpage. 

Learning Objectives
Students will be able to: - Understand that seismogram is a data plot - Identify and explain the main features of a seismogram - Read a seismogram and extract the resulting data. - Basic use of SWARM software.
