Finding technological solutions inspired by nature for people with special needs
The students will meet people with special needs (disabilities) from their community, learn about their daily life and together they will find a problem they wish to solve. During the project the students will be exposed to the field of Biomimicry through a visit to the local petting zoo and through lectures and activities given by experts and teachers. The students will work in groups to plan and design a product according to the engineering design process. The product that will be developed will solve the special needs people's problem and will be inspired by nature. The final products will be presented to the community during a pick event with all the people that were involved in the project and other representatives from the municipality and from the Ministry of Education.

RESOURCES NEEDED:
The school will need help in finding academy experts in the Biomimicry and engineering fields. The school will also require money for students' travels. The school will also need some equipment for building the products, some of it will be provided by the local science center.

הבעיה שבה אנו עוסקים ומעוניינים לחקור ולפתור היא בעיית בזבוז המים הנקיים ש"לפני" המקלחת
וגילינו שבזמן ההמתנה למים החמים במקלחת מתבזבזות כמויות אדירות של מים, התופעה מחמירה בחורף וכשהמרחק בין המקלחת לדוד המותקן על הגג גדול
שאלת המחקר שלנו: כיצד ניתן לחסוך את כמויות המים המתבזבזות במקלחת בזמן ההמתנה למים החמים?
ואצלנו בקהילה ובמדינת ישראל בכלל מתבזבזות כמויות ענקיות של מים ובישראל 60% מהמים מותפלים

חקרנו באינטרנט ומצאנו כמה פתרונות קיימים, וביניהם:
מחמם מים מידי על חשמל - אטמור
מחמם מים מידי על גז - פזגז
סירקולציה - מערכת שמעבירה את המים הקרים לדוד
השוונו ביניהם באמצעות טבלה ומצאנו שלא קיים פתרון יעיל, נוח, וזול.
התייעצנו עם כמה מומחים וביניהם: אינסטלטור ומתקין מכשירים - יניב מעודד

כדי להגיע למוצר סופי ועובד, נפגשנו עם מומחים ועם חברות גדולות בארץ והתארחנו במפעלים שלהם,
בכל פגישה שלנו עם המומחים הם הסביררו לנו על המיכל הדחה והמקלחת.
כאשר נפגשנו איתם, הראנו להם את הדברים שהכנו עד לפגישה איתם והם החזירו לנו משוב, ביקורת בונה על הפתרון, המוצר והדגם.
כשנפגשנו עם חברת פלאסון הם נתנו לנו ביקורת בונה ובנוסף לכך, הם נתנו לנו מיכל הדחה שקוף במתנה כדי להמחיש את המוצר שלנו וגם הביאו לנו תיק עם הציוד משרדי של פלאסון.
נהננו מאד בפגישות הללו ולעבוד עם מומחים גדולים בנושא וגם למדנו רבות!
