e-safety

The use of the internet by young students has invariably raised much controversy concernig issues of validity of the information provided as well as safety of the users. Since there is no official organisation to monitor what is being published dailly online, users themselves should be able to constantly evaluate the content of the sites they visit. Therefore, it is essential to supply users, young students in particular, with the knowledge and the mechanisms in order to navigate themselves safely online and avoid the various pitfalls they may stumble upon. In this way, a community is created within the school which will spread knowledge to the rest of the school and will become carriers of information for the wider local community.

Learning Objectives
raise e-safety awareness, developing mechanisms to be applied for safe e-navigation, developing critical thinkers of online information, inform students of how to protect their privacy online, develop students' presentation skills
