Creating Suitable Habitats for Minibeasts in Our School and Home Garden

Teacher will introduce concept of minibeasts through literacy (big books etc.). Junior Infants will then learn about habitats from students in the local secondary school (1st Year Junior Cert Science) focusing on minibeasts and habitats. Primary teacher will collaborate with secondary teacher to organise this. The 1st Year JC students will teach the children about the conditions/habitats requred for minibeast survival. The Junior Infant children will then be asked to consder the following inquiry questions based on the garden space outside their classroom: 

1. Is it a good habitat for our local minibeasts? 

2. How could we improve the conditions to make it a good habitat?
