Project was developed by the school guidance counselor and biology and chemistry teacher. Its goal was to educate small group (15) students about the importance of clean sea, sea biodiversity and problems considering pollution and prepare them to teach other students and local community about these important problems. Students participated on a local radio show, there were articals in the local newspaper and collaboration with Institute Ruđer Bošković in Rovinj.

Guidelines
Project adresses ecological and environmental issues regarding sea pollution, invasive species and their impact on biodiversity, mainly on local level. Students were encouraged to explore ways to prevent sea pollution and to understand the impact of the pollution on the local community (e.a. fishermen).
Our main goals were to include former students of our school who are now in science universities to give lectures to our students, to show our students how biology and chemistry field work is properly done and how to collect and process data collected on our field trips. It was also imporatant for them to learn how to maintain a healthy lifestyle and spend more time outdoors (especially after two "corona years")
Description
We were encouraged to explore ways to prevent sea pollution and collaborate with many different people to get results.

Guidelines
Students discuss ways to prevent pollution and to clean the sea, also ways to adress local community with their findings. They prepare for sampling, determining species, sea water quality analysis through various number of sources.
Description
We brainstormed on how to analyse the water quality and how to clean the sea.

Guidelines
We included former students of our school who are now in science universities to give lectures to our students, to show our students how biology field work is properly done and how to collect and process data collected on our field trips. We had two field trips; a boat field trip that took place in May where we collected speciments and determined species and sea water quality. We also sorted out garbage we "caught". Other field trip was to Rovinj in June to Institute Ruđer Bošković (Center for sea preservation) where students got the lecture about sea pollution and invasive species and visited the Aquarium.
After these project activities, students participated on the local radio show where they presented their results, results were also presented on social networks and local newspaper.
Description
We found local fishermen who were willing to help us with our field trip. We collaborated with former students of our school and we went to Aquarium in Rovinj where we learned about microplastic polution and invasive species. With that knowledge, we could than analyse results we got.
