Hosted by OSOS , contributed by Spartac on 5 July 2022

Thde aim of the project is to present the problems, the risks and the possible solutions to the emerging wolrd problem of drought.

Learning Objectives

Global warming is causing new problems to entire parts of the world such as drought  for many populations. Drought is also aggravating in Europe creating  a state of  emergency in agriculture with reduction in food production and lost crops. Drought is also dangerous for plants on the mountains and wild animals. In industrialized societies  thermal power plants are often shut down for lack of refrigeration water in the rivers.

The first thing that a  private citizen could do is to build, i f he live  in the countryside,  his own reservoir of rain water for irrigation and create an extended network of pipes to sustain it.

As far as as the local necessities the municipality of the town  should start to consider a project  to build a barrier into the local river to  keep a minimum level of water thoughout the year and promote precision irrigation among farmers to save water from the river and from underground reservoirs

.

Students will present their  work project the final days  of schoolyear  to the school community

presentation to the school of the project with solutions proposed in order to face drought in the future
