One minute before our local noon, the Sun was completely occluded. It seemed learning all that geometry was for nothing! Then, at precisely 12:16 UTC, a shaft of our star's light shone through a chink in the cloud cover. Excitedly, everyone grabbed their apparatus and ran outside, halting bemused local commuters and interested passers-by in their tracks...

No more than sixty seconds later, the sky turned a dark shade of grey and it started to rain. But we had done it! Our first set of experimental results to share, proudly, with our international community of friends.
