Main challenge:

Educators at the “General Skobelev" Primary School have experience and many good practices, both in motivating learners and in the inclusion of potentially marginalized groups. Their goal was to improve their practices by utilizing technology and also by sharing and inspiring other teachers and stakeholders.

Action and initiatives:

The teachers from "General Skobelev" Primary School utilized the interactive displays and whiteboards they bought in their lessons for introducing new presentation techniques and technologies, including working with large databases, applications, 3D interface modules, holograms and virtual reality. They conducted 30 open lessons on different subjects in different classes using the interactive displays and laptops purchased under the LFE project. Each student had a laptop during the lesson and had the opportunity to work with the interactive display and whiteboard. They used the power of digital resources, applications and tools to increase engagement, promote cooperation among teachers and teachers and students and to stimulate innovation and interest in learning. The teachers also provided the opportunity to students to participate in the preparation and organization of the lesson themselves.

Teachers from schools from Pavel Banya municipality, Maglizh municipality and Stara Zagora were guests during these activities in order to exchange digital innovative practices. This also helped to popularize the initiatives of the school.  All teachers were not only interested but also motivated to participate actively in similar exchanges in the future. There was an improvement in communication both among pedagogical professionals and with the local community, and this, in addition to increasing the motivation for the learning process, gave the teachers the opportunity to receive feedback (reflection) on the effectiveness of educational activities. Everyone involved in the implementation and promotion of the project gave positive feedback, from which a conclusion was made that thanks to the participation of the school’s team and the partners, they were able to improve the quality of the educational process and the socialization of students.

Main change/improvement/impact:

The new modern educational and digital technologies, as well as the sharing of experiences and good practices, facilitated the inclusion of appropriate methods and activities in the learning process, which enriched, diversified and modernized the educational process. Creative thinking became a part of schools’ daily life which provided to teachers opportunities to develop students’ key competences. For them, this project was extremely useful and motivational and helped them meet the need of the modern generation - to be knowledgeable, capable, worthy, confident and qualified teachers of the future.

The students increased their literacy in relation to the new technologies, gained new knowledge and acquired digital skills that will be useful to them in the future. The students participated very actively in the learning process and seemed to absorb the new knowledge with ease.

Educators and partners that collaborated with the school expressed their enhanced confidence in planning activities and effectively including the support network of students in the learning process.
