Students' misconception in science abound. The goal of this scenario is to provoke the destabilisation of students' misconceptions about seasons and the rotation of the earth. For example, students believe that the distance from the sun is the dominant factor rather than axial tilt of the earth.
The scenario has three phases:
- Activation of students' prior knowledge - diagnostic assessment - destabilisation of students' misconceptions
- Construction of new knowledge
- Assessment
