The activity ‘My School Garden’ is an effective way to reconnect students with the natural world, help them comprehend the advantages and disadvantages of pesticides, and teach them valuable gardening and agriculture concepts and skills that integrate with several subjects, such as math, science, health and physical education and social studies, history, civics, logic, art, literature, music, and the birds and the bees both literally and figuratively as well as several educational goals, including personal and social responsibility.

The activity ‘Renewable, Green, Clean? Wind Energy and Solar Energy’ is an educational activity that aims to sensitize the students on the advantages and applications of renewable energy resources. The activity includes inquiry-based actions, simple and more advanced investigation and activities to propose hypotheses, a serious game, as well as field trips, to help the students understand and familiarize themselves with the concepts introduced.

Students visit a river near their school and play a game that will help them to learn more on the organisms that live in the water. Through this activity the students learn about the importance of the river, take photos of the ecosystem, recognise the human intervention. The central part of this activity allows students to collect identify and measure small animals that could be used as markers for the quality of the environment and give them a simple indicator of environmental quality of a specific site.

Οι μαθητές στo πλαίσιο του μαθήματος της περιβαλλοντικής εκπαίδευσης επισκέφθηκαν το εργοστάσιο μηχανικής ανακύκλωσης & κομποστοποίησης στα Χανιά. Εντυπωσιασμένοι από την όλη διαδικασία και το τελικό αποτέλεσμα ευαισθητοποιήθηκαν περισσότερο για την ανακύκλωση και αποφάσισαν να φτιάξουν το δικό τους σύστημα ανακύκλωσης χρησιμοποιώντας τα lego και το scratch.
